WHAT IS THE CALENDAR CONTEST?

Entries will be displayed and people in our community will be invited to vote for their favorite shots.  The most popular photo will adorn the cover of our thirteen-month 8' x 10" full-color 2011 calendar.  The thirteen next most popular photos will be featured as Pets of the Month.  All other entries will be featured in full color throughout the calendar.  Recognition will be made in the calendar of those featured pets that were adopted from an animal shelter or through rescue.  The contest is not limited to only those pets—any pet is invited to participate!!

Photos will be displayed at the Dog & Cat Shelter and at area businesses during October.  People may vote for their favorite photo as many times as they wish; votes are $1 each. 

Calendars will be on sale in late November.  They may be pre-ordered at $20 per calendar.  If calendars must be mailed, add $3.00 for one calendar or $6.00 for 2 – 5 calendars to cover shipping.  All monies go directly to care for the animals at the Dog & Cat Shelter.

PHOTO SPECS...

• Photos must be originals, and may be 4" x 6", 5" x 7" or 8" x 10", smooth matte or glossy.

•  Digital photos must be at least 1.5 mgpiz quality in order to reproduce well. 

• Photos must contain only pets. 

• More than one pet in a photo is acceptable.  Feel free to enter photos in memory of a special pet. 

• Pets' and owners' names will be printed by the photo unless the owner requests otherwise. 

•  Do not write or stamp directly on the photo, either front or back (use a label prewritten before being stuck on the photo). 

• If your photo was taken professionally, a signed release from the photographer must be included.

• Dark photos do not reproduce or show up well, so try for good contrasts and neutral backgrounds that emphasize your furry friend’s best features.
