We can't do it without your help!
Volunteer classes are the second Saturday of each month from
11:00 am to
approximately 12:30. The class is held at the Dog and Cat Shelter.
Please call the Dog and Cat Shelter to sign-up. The class is limited to
15 people.
It's
as simple as that. Volunteers are the lifeblood of most public service
organizations, and it takes a very special person to offer their time
and devotion to a cause.
For whatever reason you have chosen to offer us your service, we thank
you. You will be making a difference to many dogs and cats and their
owners by helping us provide a safe, clean place for them until they are
returned to or placed in a loving home.

Volunteer Duties to
Choose From
There are many ways for you to help The
Dog and Cat Shelter provide a clean, safe home for animals that are
waiting for their owners to claim them, or who are looking for a new
family. You many choose to volunteer for any or all of the
following:
-
Socialization
of Animals
Duties will include handling of dogs and
cats who have been evaluated by staff members and found to be fit
for adoption, including walking with a leash, teaching basic
commands, and possibly fostering animals, under the supervision of
Shelter Staff.
-
Fundraising
and Special Events
The Board of Directors holds various fundraising activities, and
we do need volunteers to staff these events. In the past we have
raised money with auctions, "Pet-O-Ween",
the "Doggy Dash" foot race. Upcoming events include a golf
tournament, and seasonal mailings to solicit funds for operations.
Your duties here may include working on a mailing list, manning
entry booths; selling or soliciting donated goods for auctions,
publicity, etc.
